On September 19, 2016, the MSU Library and the College of Letters and Science launched the Ivan Doig Archive, unveiling the web site and hosting a panel discussion of his work and life. This event in the Strand Union included panelists and noted guests such as Ivan Doig’s widow, Carol Doig; his longtime friends and research colleagues, Marcella Walter and Betty Mayfield; MSU’s College of Letters and Science Writer in Residence, Rick Bass; MSU President Waded Cruzado; Dean Nicol Rae of the College of Letters and Science; Dr. Mary Murphy, Montana historian and Distinguished Professor in the College of Letters and Science; and Dean of the MSU Library, Kenning Arlitsch. The event was attended by over 300 MSU and community members.
