What is a finding aid?
  • A finding aid is a tool created by archivists to help users navigate archival material. The finding aid describes and details the organization and contents of a collection. Learn more about finding aids.
Why use a finding aid?
  • Using a finding aid can help users replicate an in-person visit to the Archives & Special Collections Reading Room and understand the original order of the physical objects in a collection. Finding aids help users identify collections relevant to their research by discovering boxes and folders that may be of interest.
